exponent
[noun]
A number or expression written superscript to another number or expression, called the base, and indicating the power to which the base number is to be raised. For example, bx, where b is the base number and x is the exponent. Positive integer exponents indicate the number of times a number or expression is used as a factor of repeated multiplication.
